Jacopo Figus Diaz’s practice focuses on European and Italian competition law.
Jacopo assists Italian and foreign clients on a wide range of antitrust issues, including restrictive practices, cooperation agreements, abuses of dominance and merger control proceedings before the European Commission and the Italian Competition Authority as well as in litigation before Italian administrative and civil courts and the EU courts.
Jacopo also advises clients on consumer protection, antitrust compliance, foreign subsidies (FSR) and FDI (golden power) matters.
Over the years, Jacopo has gained significant and specific experience in various sectors, including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, media & telecom, services, aerospace and automotive.
In 2021, Jacopo was named Italian Antitrust/EU & Competition Lawyer of the Year Under 40 by Legalcommunity.
Jacopo graduated cum laude from Università di Roma Tre. He obtained an LL.M. from the College of Europe (Bruges) in 2007 and an LL.M. from Columbia University (New York) in 2011. He also obtained a Maîtrise en droit and a Master from the Université de Poitiers (France).
Jacopo is registered with the Rome and the New York bar.
Jacopo authored numerous publications on competition law and he is a member of the European and International law commission of the Rome Bar.
