Milan, 21 April 2026 – Following the appointments of Emanuele Artuso, Francesca Carlesi, Riccardo Paganin, Edward Ruggeri, Giovanni Troisi, Cristiana Visco and Beatrice Zilio the number of partners at Legance has risen to 76.

The number of Senior Counsel has now reached 37 following the promotion of Lucio Di Cicco, Alfredo Fabbricatore, Jacopo Garonna, Paolo Guaragnella, Francesca Iannò, Paolo Antonio Mulas, Davide Rossi, Luigi Scordo, Lucio Scudiero and Giacomo Testa.

With the appointment of the new Partners and Senior Counsel – comment Co-Managing Partners Andrea Giannelli and Filippo Troisi – in line with its strategic plan, the firm intends to strengthen its leadership position in the legal market by continuing its focus on innovation and growth.

This significant milestone – they conclude – was achieved thanks to the expertise, dedication, and professionalism they have demonstrated over the years.

Emanuele Artuso specialises in M&A transactions, with a particular focus on the energy, gas and natural resources sectors. He regularly assists leading national and international operators, investment funds and investment banks in all phases of such transactions (development, joint ventures, acquisition and disposal of completed projects and facilities, participation in tenders, drafting and negotiation of construction contracts and other project-related contracts), bringing together his specific expertise in civil, corporate and administrative law.

Francesca Carlesi has gained extensive experience in the fields of environmental law and environmental criminal law, assisting both domestic and international clients with issues relating to waste management, remediation procedures, environmental impact assessment proceedings, integrated environmental authorisation, single environmental authorisation, atmospheric emissions and water discharges. Francesca provides both out-of-court and litigation-related assistance.

Riccardo Paganin focuses on M&A, corporate law and financial markets regulation. He advises sponsors, financial institutions and industrial companies, both domestically and overseas, on extraordinary and value-enhancing transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate reorganisations. He has gained expertise in transactions between funds, leveraged buyouts, hybrid instruments and management incentive plans. 

Edward Ruggeri has experience in the fields of environmental law, environmental criminal law, health and safety, energy, food and ESG law. On the judicial and extrajudicial front, he focuses on issues relating to atmospheric emissions, water discharges, Integrated Environmental Authorisation, environmental impact assessments, waste management and site remediation, including complex proceedings involving multi-company sites. He has gained significant experience in administrative procedures for the granting of permits for the extraction and exploitation of oil and gas and critical raw materials.

Giovanni Troisi specialises in banking law and structured finance transactions. He advises financial institutions and real estate funds on leveraged buyouts, corporate and mezzanine financing, real estate finance transactions, as well as debt restructuring. He is involved in structured finance and credit securitisation transactions, with a particular focus on bond issues placed on both the domestic and international markets, mini-bonds and other debt securities.

Cristiana Visco focuses on domestic and international M&A and private equity transactions, as well as complex extraordinary transactions, with a particular focus on regulated sectors such as energy, telecommunications and infrastructure. She has gained extensive experience in advising leading industrial operators, private equity and infrastructure funds, having been involved in some of the major deals completed in Italy in the energy, transport and telecommunications sectors.

Beatrice Zilio focuses on banking and finance law transactions. She regularly assists banks and lenders, investment funds, leading national and international sponsors on acquisition and investment financing, syndicated loans, real estate financing, margin loans and venture debt, including in cross-border contexts and involving innovative and complex structures. She has also developed solid expertise in debt restructuring transactions, as well as in debt capital market and structured finance transactions.
