Antonio Matino focuses on banking, structured finance and corporate law. He takes part numerous financing transactions (including in the real estate sector), as well as in the structuring of financial instruments (including hybrid instruments and innovative capital instruments) aimed at optimising the regulatory capital of banks and financial intermediaries. Antonio regularly advises investment banks and private debt funds, as well as leading international sponsors, on complex financing transactions across various key sectors (corporate, property, energy, industrial and banking). Antonio Matino is also active in the structured finance sector, providing assistance in sophisticated securitisation transactions, with underlying portfolios of performing and non-performing loans, as well as with real estate, inventory or other eligible movable assets as the underlying asset.

In the field of debt transactions, Antonio has also advised on the issuance of bonds, commercial paper and other debt securities (including under ‘EMTN’ programmes); he also advises banks and financial intermediaries on regulatory matters related to banking law.

Antonio Matino obtained his PhD in Company and Business Law from the Università degli Studi di Milano, winning the Gianfranco Campobasso Association’s award for the best thesis in commercial and banking law.
