Antonella Capria coordinates the Environmental Law team. She has advised major Italian, European and US clients on environmental and administrative law issues, on corporate environmental policies, risk management as well as health and safety issues.

Antonella also has broad expertise in the energy sector, advising clients in the development of energy and infrastructure projects (fuelled by renewable sources and waste to energy), on environmental permits, environmental impact assessment, regulation of remediations, waste legislation negotiation with public authorities, and administrative litigation issues. In addition, she has developed significant experience on permitting issues connected to the development of offshore terminals and energy and oil infrastructure projects.

More recently, Antonella has been assisting clients in connection with the implementation of EU regulations on environmental damage and the green economy in Italy.

Antonella has written several books and numerous articles on EU and Italian Environmental law, environmental damage, land contamination, waste and wastewater management and packaging.

Antonella coordinates the Food Law department and has experience in EU and national regulations, packaging, waste management, including in the context of the agroscience sector.

She graduated in Law from Università La Sapienza of Rome and she specialised in Environmental and Land Management in Pavia. She has also lectured on several post-graduate environmental law courses.

As a market leader in the environmental field, she has coordinated research projects for the European Union, the Ministry of Environment and the National Research Council.

Antonella is mentioned as Global Leader in the Who’s Who Environment 2022 Guide and as a National Leader in the Italy – Environment Guide 2022, she is also highly recommended as an environmental expert by all major surveys of the legal profession. Chambers and Partners ranks Antonella in Band 1 in the Environmental section. In 2017, she was awarded “Professional of the Year: Administrative/Environmental” at the Legalcommunity Energy Awards and she was recognized as “Professional of the Year: Administrative”, at the TopLegal Awards, both in 2016 and in 2013.
