Legance appoints 2 new partners and 6 Senior Counsel

Milan, 12 June 2023 – Legance – Avvocati Associati appoints 2 new partners and 6 Senior Counsel.

Following the appointments of Simone Ambrogi and Valerio Mosca the number of partners has risen to 62. The number of senior counsel has now reached 24 following the promotion of Stefano Bandini, Guendalina Catti De Gasperi, Jacopo Figus Diaz, Lorenzo Gentiloni Silveri, Riccardo Paganin and Raffaella Zagaria.

Simone Ambrogi has gained significant experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, with particular focus on PPP (Public-Private Partnership) and utilities, assisting sponsors, lenders and financial institutions in some of the most important deals in recent years. Simone Ambrogi has also matured extensive experience in holdco financing and acquisition transactions, assisting important sponsors and financial institutions in the most relevant deals in the market. Simone is also regularly involved in the structuring of corporate governance, financing and project contracts for companies operating in the so-called in house providing and mixed company regime, an area in which he is recognised as one of the top professionals by operators and lenders. Simone was mentioned by The Legal 500 as a Next Generation Partners in the Banking and Finance section (lender or arranger side).

Valerio Mosca is head of the Telecommunications, Media and Technology (TMT) Department and provides assistance to major operators active in these fields. In particular, Valerio assists national and international clients on regulatory, contractual, litigation and compliance issues and proceedings of the utmost importance, including before public authorities (e.g., AGCOM and the Ministry of Made in Italy Enterprises), as well as in judicial proceedings before administrative and civil courts. Valerio has also acquired significant experience in the IT, cybersecurity and new technologies sectors, providing assistance on legal issues, including those of particular technical complexity and concerning innovative platforms and services. Valerio also assists domestic and international clients in Golden Power licensing transactions. Valerio Mosca is ranked by Chambers and Partners in the “TMT: Telecommunications” sector and is mentioned by The Legal 500 in the “Industry Focus TMT” section.

Stefano Bandini focuses on M&A (with particular reference to listed companies), equity capital markets and corporate law. He regularly assists both Italian and foreign companies in equity capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions, with a particular focus on cross-border transactions. Stefano Bandini has gained significant experience in takeover bids, listing transactions (on Euronext Milan, NYSE and Euronext Growth Milan) and more in general, assisting listed and unlisted companies, including private equity funds, on extraordinary and M&A transactions. The Legal 500 ranks Stefano in the Rising Star category for both Equity Capital Markets and Commercial, Corporate and M&A.

Guendalina Catti De Gasperi specialises in European and domestic antitrust law. She advises Italian and foreign clients on all aspects of antitrust law, including merger control, abuse of dominance and cartels, in proceedings before the Court of Justice of the European Union, the European Commission, the Italian Antitrust Authority and administrative and civil courts. Guendalina also advises clients on regulatory and consumer protection issues, and has extensive experience in state aid law. She advises companies active in a wide range of industries, and has significant experience in banking and finance, energy, information and communication technology and manufacturing. In 2021 and 2022, she was recognised as a Rising Star Antitrust – EU & Competition by The Legal 500.

Jacopo Figus Diaz specialises in European and domestic competition law. He advises Italian and foreign clients on all aspects of antitrust law, with particular focus on restrictive practices, cooperation agreements, abuse of dominance and merger control, in investigations before the European Commission and the Italian Antitrust Authority, as well as in litigation before the Italian administrative and civil courts and the EU courts. Jacopo also provides assistance in Golden Power matters. Jacopo has gained significant experience in various industries, including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, media, telecommunications, and automotive. In 2021, he was awarded Antitrust Lawyer of the Year – EU & Competition at the Legalcommunity Forty Under 40.

Lorenzo Gentiloni Silveri has gained significant experience in the Life Sciences & Healthcare sector, contributing personally to the creation and development of the firm’s practice. He advises major players in this field (including hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, universities, IRCCS and foundations). He mainly focuses on M&A transactions and all matters of corporate, commercial and regulatory law relating to the hospital, pharmaceutical and scientific research sectors, as well as digital health and artificial intelligence. Lorenzo also deals with M&A transactions and advises on corporate and commercial law matters in other industries, and has significant experience in civil and commercial litigation.

Riccardo Paganin specialises in M&A, corporate and capital markets law. He has advised private equity funds, banks and industrial companies in extraordinary transactions, acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate reorganisations including major cross-border transactions. He has gained significant experience in drafting and negotiating acquisition agreements, investment agreements, shareholders’ agreements and management incentive plans. He graduated cum laude from Bocconi University in Milan and obtained a PhD in Commercial Law from Ca’ Foscari University in Venice.

Raffaella Zagaria has gained considerable experience in the public contracts and public services field. In addition to providing judicial and extrajudicial assistance to clients also operating in sectors governed by public law, she supports teams involved in numerous corporate and project finance transactions, where she deals with public regulatory and authorisation issues.
