Carolina Piovano has gained significant experience in advising a diverse array of corporations and financial institutions, skillfully navigating complex litigation and domestic arbitration cases.

She has been representing leading international and domestic clients, including primary investment banks and corporates in the energy sector, on corporate, banking, financial, and commercial disputes.

Her expertise spans both pre-litigation and litigation phases, as well as bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings.

Carolina graduated with honors in 2009 at the Università di Torino, where she is currently an assistant professor (“cultrice della materia”) of civil procedure law.

In addition to her proficiency in traditional corporate and commercial litigation, Carolina has developed a strong expertise in ESG-related matters. She had advised boards of companies and financial institutions on managing risks associated with climate change, greenwashing, and biodiversity loss, helping them stay ahead of emerging challenges in today’s rapidly evolving business landscape.

She has participated in several conferences on Climate Change Litigation and since 2022 she has been Rapporteur for the European Court of Human Rights and for Italy of the Sabin Center of Climate Change Law at Columbia University.
