Silvia Cossu focuses on commercial and finance litigation, insolvency and restructuring. She represents financial services institutions, insurance companies, insurance brokers and other corporate and individual clients, in high-stake civil, commercial and finance litigation matters. Her clients include a number of leading banks, online companies (active in the e-commerce), online travel agencies, insurance companies, brokers, financial services companies and, in general, major Italian, European and foreign companies operating in different commercial and industrial sectors. Silvia gained significant experience assisting in a wide range of business-related disputes, including those involving commercial agreements, agency agreements, mergers, directors’ liabilities, loan servicing, insurance matters, corporate fiduciary duties, distribution and supply contracts, e-commerce, domestic and international sale of goods contracts, unfair competition and consumer law. She also assisted Italian clients in certain corporate litigations and in several cross-border litigations, involving complex private and public international law issues. She also gained significant experience with litigations relating to several kinds of matters involving foreign States, national banks or public entities, having interests in Italy and/or EEUU (specially from Southern and Central America). Silvia also has extensive experience in assisting clients as regards to the organisation of any kind of promise of prizes (i.e., skill contests, prize draws and prize operations) within the Italian territory and/or addressed to consumers located in Italy (strictly regulated in Italy by the DPR 430/01). Finally, she also gained significant experience in insolvency law and litigation. She assisted Italian and international companies, funds, and financial institutions on complex issues and in litigation relating to the major insolvency proceedings in Italy.
