Marco Cottone specialises in shipping, aviation and transportation law, assisting airport management companies, airport handling and insurance companies on issues related to vector liability. He also assists companies operating in the road haulage sector, of local public transport by road and rail and companies in the field of international maritime transport.

He also has extensive experience in the yachting and shipping industry assisting leading shipping companies, management companies and financial institutions.

Marco Cottone has also acquired significant experience in the field of litigation and arbitration procedures as well as in financing and/or restructuring operations for companies operating in the transport sector. He also assists leading companies operating in the automotive sector both in the distribution of motor vehicles and in the logistics sector.

From 2010 to 2019 he was a professor of Maritime and Aviation Law at the Università degli Studi Milano-Bicocca, where he got his Ph.D. graduation in Law, and he has been qualified as Professor of the II Band since 2017. He is also a professor at the Accademia della Guardia di Finanza di Bergamo. Marco Cottone is a speaker at conferences and training courses in the field of navigation and transport. From 2013 to 2014 he was a member of the technical committee of the Commissione Usi in road haulage at the Camera di Commercio of Milan.
